So I know we aren't losing Glalie anytime soon.

I'm good at making sprites cleaner and shit if anyone needs to to tweak anything with messy lines or shading. I could give a crack at Sawk. i think the super nerd's pillow could be a body pillow.

I'm wondering.. the player is only going to encounter so many edgey grunts in the gameplay, are each of them going to have to have all different pokemon just to go through all the pokemon chosen? I mean, most teams only have a set of 5 or so, and more isn't bad, but we've chosen a ton. I guess people seem pretty set on a seperate dex for edgy pokemon, but I worry that takes away from the focus. Especially since the amount of arguably "edgy" pokemon is WAY more than arguably "comfy" pokemon. it's pointless to include every one you can think of.

The reason I put it at 184 was to fill gen 3's current Pokemon total (386). Also the evil team won't use all these Pokemon. Just a few and the rest just happen to be a part of the region

Two regions. Seperated by ???. Pokemon comfy start of on comfy region and beat 9 gyms. Pokemon edge start in edge region and beat 9 gyms of the types not used in the comfy region. Elite 4 and champion are mixed types. After completing the game you will be able to go to other region and battle the other 9 gym leaders.

Raichu, Clefable and Azumarill are a good trio, they're all "mascot"ish and of similar strenghts;
I think we won't have a rival, so it doesn't matter if it's unbalanced typewise. Even then, Azumarill gets fighting moves.

Nah, I personally see no problem with having a lot of gyms. Just make the level curve really slow and the routes really short. Like GS, make Comfy's plot end at about level 50, and Edgy's (plus the champion) end at around 88.

The thing about the four gyms is that we'd have a lot of wasted towns in the Comfy region with lots of concepts we wouldn't get to explore. Nine gym cities with short distances between each other would give us more room to be creative.

I think the issue here is why are we worried about types? this is the comfy region. it's gimmicky and everyone is concerned about soft things and fat pokemon. leave it to other rom hacks to go wild with the super fancy gym combos and other pokefan wet dreams. trying to work in those sort of balances is pointless when we're choosing pokemon based on their relative comfyness.

that's just my opinion though.

I think we stick to having only Comfy region with Team Edgy, and themed gyms (ie: "warm" gym with some fire mons, fluffy gym with Altaria, Whimsicott, Mommy gym with Kanghaskan, Chansey, Leavannty, etc)

You're missing the point. The idea of this ENTIRE THING is that we follow the theme of comfy. We can't stray to far from that adding things at a strech. The pokemon must be objectively comfy to go in. The theme has to be clear, otherwise there is no point and this is just another hack.

Why does the rival have to be edgy? Why not make it a friendly rival, you ask your next-door neighbor if he/she wants to come with you, and you two have friendly little battles every few towns. Could use the other gender protag sprite for them.

How about our rival is so much more comfy than us? He's like always half asleep and doesn't even try to be better than you but is. Like he doesn't even know where he's been getting badges from or anything, he's just having a fun cozy time. We usually find him sleeping and blocking where we need to go, you have to wake him up and battle him. He wouldn't really care about battles but he thinks you do and doesn't like to turn you down.

Maybe you and your rival are actually best friends? And your grandmother gives them a starter too, and sends both of you off to find your grandfather? They get a head start, but tends to nap a lot, so you wake them up and battle to help them stay awake
