Maybe it's a Fire/Psychic with a physical base, meaning that Psychic moves that it would need to learn would include Zen Headbutt and perhaps Psycho Cut.

Plenty of Pokemon that are not Fighting typed at all have learned the elemental punches for quite some time. Hell, Wooper learns a punch move and it doesn't even have arms!

I figured it depended on the pokemons typing.

Grass/Steel
Fire does 2x to each, hence the 4x
But fighting only has 2x against steel, not grass. So why 8x? If fighting was super effective against grass, I would see it.

Look at it backwards then. If we subtracted by .5 instead of dividing by 2, double resistances would end up at 0 rather than 1/4.

I don't know what leak you're talking about but I want to assume its reliable-ish.
But.
Why do you assume it was SE? It sounded not very effective to me, and it did not much damage from a level 14 to a level 5 if it was super effective.
But I haven't been following the trailers closely. If I need education here don't spare me.
