This is the first Gen VI that I immediately disliked. I don't know, the shape is so weird, it just looks like a shitty fakemon.

I just imagined it to be a huge single stage pokemon that blocks your path, like Snorlax.

But it looks pretty small when you compare it to the actual trees in the background. Maybe they just scaled them down because it's a horde battle, but I'm a little disappointed either way.

I kept seeing this and just claimed Fake.
Even though they showed it, I just thought that maybe it was a construct and not an actual Pokemon. Like a robot or something Team Rocket made up or some shit.

The design is just... kinda stupid and silly. Ill give Sudowoodo a pass simply because its a mimic and not actually grass, but everyone uses a tree as a grass/nature type in games. I figured GameFreak has been a bit creative over the years that they'd never sink to such a childishly simple idea.

Then I remember Unown and suddenly I realize GF has made stupider things and this isnt too bad.

Well you have to keep this in mind, the Pokemon Company probably didn't want it to resemble a digimon THAT much, making a tree pokemon is already risky, atleast they put there own spin on it. it dosn't just look like an angry fucking tree, there's some humanoid figure to it.

Thing is, this is supposed to be in Yurrop. Land of knights and haunted forests and mythical creatures (magical stags) and DnD-like games/lore. It fits the area and feeling.

I'm on the fence. I think as it is it seems kind of generic; although, I don't dislike how it looks.

What I want it to do is to close its eye, plant itself, fix its bark by shrinking, and to interlock its hands above its head to diguise itself fully as a tree or bush.

Maybe this Pokemon has some sort of special mechanic that allows it to grow berries.

I just want it to be more unique.

Froakie is obviously the mage, he's even gonna have the mage beard. Fennekin is the thief, because kitsunes are always thieves in legend. That leaves Chespin as the warrior, which it could easily fulfill.

Gen 5 is the only one of those that makes remotely any sense, and even there Oshawott is more of a warrior as well than a thief. People were saying Gen 6 starters fit the warrior, mage, thief pattern. That doesn't mean everything else suddenly retroactively does. Stop with the autistic patterns that don't exist.

That's not even confirmed, and a thief could still use psychic powers along with dark and ghost to achieve their means. Psychic alone is more thiefy than magey. Think Hypno. Fairy is the good guy Psychic. Psychic itself is creepy mind control now.

It still looks like the magey type to me. Forecasting events (divination school in d&d), playing with the mind (illusion school), healing allies (clerics), all of that sounds magey.

Gamefreak was so lazy designing this pokemon that they did not realize/care it is a complete rip off of Dusknoir.
