X/Y timeline

So, compared to the other games, when do you think X/Y is set?

personally i think it's only 1, or 2 years after BW2
>Gen2 came out and is set 3 years after gen1
>Gen4 came out 4 years and is set 3 years after gen3
>BW2 came out and is set 2 years after BW
this isn't perfect, i know, but it's possible

Nope, everything till gen4 is possible, but after that you got it wrong, Rocket grunt is already married and has a kid, BW is at least 8 years after HGSS

I know people say this would be too complex timeline for GF, and they won't do this as it'll leave those who haven't played gen1/2/remakes confused
but i think they could, if they never downright stated that it's the prelude to gen1/3, just heavily implied it
that way, those who played gen1/3 will pick up on it easily, while those that didn't won't realize there's something they missed

Because the sprite used for the kid was from the School Kid, which in Japan is equal to a kid in the range of 7-12 years old, plus time to know the girl and pregnancy time and the shortest amount of time possible is 8 years.

I prefer it to be 10 years, but this is my headcanon

what's to say he wasn't married while he was in Kanto, or even had a child while he was in Kanto? For all they know, he could've just been working abroad or something. I don't think we can use the NPCs to determine anything further than the Unova storylines taking place after both the Hoenn and Kanto ones.

If you're gonna use that sprite to determine it then you've gotta take the PWT into account too, and none of the Kanto or Hoenn trainers look like they've aged 10 years.
