1 generation is overrated shit.

The Pokemons aren't even that good. When I was making gen 1 team, I never have had as hard time with making a team as it was then. There simply wasn't a lot good choices. At least in Gen 3 and Gen 5 there was too many nice choices.

Don't get me wrong though, I am happy that it started this nice franchise and it has some mons I like more or less, some of are even in my top 10. For example, Pinsir, Snorlax Jolteon, Gengar, Nidoking, Ninetales
