Even though it was the superior game. Why is everyone so wanting gen 3 remakes?

I'll agree the Hoenn hate is stupid but it could've been so much better without the water. The trumpets were fine and gave it a certain style, just like all the other games. The water is inexcusable.

There was an absoulte shit ton of water but it was supposed to be a tropical island setting. and also it could have been because it was one body as opposed to lakes and random water places

It'd be fine if the water had variety. I'd honestly buy a Hoenn remake just for Staryu, Horsea, and maybe Wooper to be in some areas.

I'm an oldskool pokefan back from gen 1. I skipped Gen 3 for years until I got an original DS (but played before Gen 4 came out). At the time, I really loved Emerald. I thought it was great to have 2 evil teams to face off against, rebattling gym leaders and the graphical leap from Gen 2 was amazing. I think those factors are what causes the most nostalgia for Hoenn, at least for me.

Nowadays though, I just feel it's too underwhelming.
