I think we could get the seasons represented by different areas. The area up north is surrounded by fall-color leaves (Autumn), south-central Kalos has bright grasslands and flower patches (Spring), east Kalos has snow-covered areas (Winter), while west Kalos has beaches and lush forests (Summer).

Maybe they'd change forms based on climate? Wi-fi might be a problem though if it works like Nature Power, seeing as there's no "default" form.

Well you could battle computerized versions of your friends with mixed records. There really is no function to serve, it's just cosmetic side projects.
A base in underground was important to play CTF with your friends but it didn't have to have decorations.
Dream world house didn't have to have decor either.
