The problem is that it only looks like an ice cream cone with eyes on it. There aren't any icicles covered in snow with straws poking out.

Swirlix at least resembles an overly fluffy poodle or cloud, a lot of people didn't even realize it was cotton candy until they were told.

If you hated Charizard, we'd just take it as a message you're standing up to Genwunners that couldn't even be bothered to pick out any other Gen 1 favorites they probably don't have.

Rocks aside, some of us actually do remember raising a Charizard fondly but we stayed in the series long enough to use other shit along the fucking way like Nidorino or Lapras in our Gen 1 sexytimes.

The reason why no one would be upset with you is too many think Charizard is the best and the most unbeatable when it's anything but. It's not about justifying its design. Charizard's hate doesn't come from "WHY IZ THIS POKEYMAN? BABBY GET BAD DESIGN!" like Vanillite's line.

It's floating ice/icicles like Geodude is just a fucking rock or how Voltorb and Electrode are just fucking Pokéballs. Is it plausible enough to be in the animal kingdom? No. But they're all monster designs, so I'm okay with it.

I love swirlix and dislike vanillite.
Swirlix isn't just cotton candy, it's also obviously a dog too. Vanillite is just ice cream, and doesn't look like it could ever be in nature, even for Pokemon. I do think that there was creativity put into the design, but it just doesn't work for the Pokemon franchise.

Why do people think they know better than Gamefreak about what does and doesn't constitute as a plausible Pokemon? I'm not trying to kiss Gamefreaks ass here. I can understand not liking it's design. Ok fine. But you can't keep saying "it's just icecream" when it's a fact it isn't icecream. That's like saying someone in black face is actually black. 2nd, this is the Pokemon universe, and it differs quite a bit from ours. It's not up to you to decide what could and could not be a part of nature when this series is about all sorts of weird shit.

I like a bunch of Pokes from GenV, a couple are in my top 10 favs. However, I think the stupidest Pokemon of all time come from GenV though. Simipour and Simisear are atrocious garbage, worse than Vanilluxe, Cryogonal is vile feces, Meloetta is UGH, um, am I forgetting anything? The starters, NNNNNNGGGGGG.

I don't think people would be big on eating a pig that can destroy you. Look how overpowered psychic pokemon are realistically. Same with blaziken. Imagine a cassowary but a million times more dangerous, that also shoots fire.

The Galapagos Tortoise is as endangered as it is because people would stop off at the islands to relax, and they'd eat the tortoises.
It was years before they were even confirmed to exist by the scientific community because people would go off to bring them back to the mainland, and wind up eating all of them on the way there.
