Most of the girls I meet are more like that. During high school once all the cheerleaders wore some Pikachu shirts from Hot Topic and whenever I saw one in the hallway I would silently rage.
I guess if I ever met a girl who was an actual fan of Pokemon that would be different, but I never do. They're either trying to be a nerdy 90s kid or trying to be just like one of the guys and so cool and awesome because they like something a guy likes.

The only female pokemon fan I know of is my sister.
First thing she did with the first copy of Silver I gave her was show me the result of a Typhlosion solo run.

The fucker was level 75 in a week and she hadn't even reached Kanto.

Another time I let her use my FireRed and she had a level 43 Blastoise by the time she got to Lt. Surge.

To this day I don't know how the hell she did that so fast. These weren't even any edited games or anything.
