>>13240025As you lay there, stroking your Pokémon fondly, you think of how much she’s grown in all the time you’ve spent together. In your calm, lucid state, all the wonderful seasons shared between you and your Pokémon flit through your mind like photographs as the wind howls, muffled by the snow and the sturdy, ancient walls of the home that surrounds you.
However muted, the wail of that icy wind reaches the sensitive ears of your Pokémon, and in the soft, silver snowlight glowing through the window, you see her flinch with anxiety, and open her tired eyes.
Your Pokémon sees you, her human, and as your eyes meet, a little burst of warmth swells within you. She stirs, as though she felt that warmth as well. Her eyes close, and with a contented sigh, she’s asleep again.
Holding your Pokémon against you, all you can do is gaze through the window at the ghostly sky, and regret that this can not last forever.
With your love and care, your Pokémon has grown so much already. She may not always be the just the right size for you to hold close on winter nights. As she becomes stronger she may not need you for assurance when the wind howls, or when the thunder roars.
