But you can't just sit down and get 100 straight wins in the Battle Tower with the mons you happened to capture and train on your adventure. You need team planning, strategy, and prep work to build a team that works.
I say fake difficulty (see
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FakeDifficulty if you're confused about the term) because simple things like secondary effect rates and crit rates are screwed into the computer's favor, mathmatically, and increasingly as you venture higher into the win records.
I know I'm not speaking for everyone here, but one of my favorite parts of these games in seeing just how far I can get in Singles.
