Spa gym would be something like Fire/Water/Rock pokemon. Rocks would be the hot rocks they put on people's backs in spas, water would be the heated water, and fire is what they use to heat them.

It's just a fun little project a few people are working on. It's going to be a small, short game set in the Pokemon world where you have to run a few errands for your grandma. You have to go through the region collecting four badges to go fight the Pokemon league and the champion. The champion is your forgetful grandpa, you have to beat him before he will listen to you, and when you do, you tell him that dinner is ready and grandma is waiting for him so she can take the roast out of the oven.
Happily ever after, the end.
And maybe some shit with some edgy teens trying to screw shit up, we're not sure about that yet.

Stuff is fairly easy, the rival is just a chill guy who you run into a few times and battle you because he doesn't want to be rude and turn down your challenge.
All the pokes are cute or relate to dreams/softness somehow.
All the towns and landmarks are also cute.

Like, at the playground crossroads, there could be a group of rouge preschoolers that want to steal the protagonist's lunch money, and after defeating all of them they settle down.

You get what I'm getting at? A few more places to get exp., like at the Battle House or Office Building from B/W.

Kinda wish that the places in the rom were named better, rather than digging through a bunch of maps with the same name to find the right tiles. Also, I'm not quite sure how the steam would be shown. I think it's in the weather effects, but I'm not sure which one.

They are going to be in the winter wonderland, so I was thinking a Christmas or snow theme for that one
One will be in the underwater bubble city, but have a spa for e4 so we need something new for that.
One will be in a Plush factory, I was thinking a work theme for that one.
And I thought the Sandcastle city could be royalty themed because Castles.

There was the idea of having the plush factory be haunted, so the leader was a possessed substitute doll or something (a rather plush-looking one; there was an image last thread, I think, but I didn't save it)
For the sandcastle, I imagine it being like an actual kinda castle. With the gym leader being a King, with a plastic crown or something, and the trainers being various members of the royal court and such.

I think I underestimated how complicated Advance Map is. I think I might have puzzled out enough to at least get a mockup.

Okay, I think this is approximately what I had in mind for the spa Elite 4 room.(I read spa, and thought hot springs, which is I guess sorta similar?)
I was going to use some darker sand in the middle, but there isn't really any. There also isn't an inside corner piece for the spa. Nor could I put a ladder on the side/front to get out of it, although that doesn't really matter.
Also, I used a cave exit for the entry because I couldn't figure out how to put a door on that side (also, couldn't access much with that tileset?). I figured that the exit would be on the right side there (couldn't find any sort of door to use there, though), and if need be, a corridor outside could then turn to whatever direction the next room started from.
Also, imagine the whole room covered with that bright fog/mist (I think it's used in Flannery's gym?) for steam.
Sorry it looks like shit despite spending 3 hours trying to make it look right

So, since I still haven't found the stuff I need for Ace, and Advance Map has also had issues come up, I've found this:

It does romhacks in 3D a la gens IV and V, so it will look good. I'm not sure how to use it but if anyone here wants to try, we might turn out looking better than gen /vp/.

Yeah, chances are that not many will see them (I don't think very many people lose to npcs other than rivals or gym leaders and such), but we should be thorough about it.
Not a very high priority, though, we should get all the scrapbook stuff done first, probably.

Most of my work is in Unity or Flash, mostly making 3D assets. But I know Javascript and Actionscript (as well as some others that aren't really used in games)
