>>13262149>>Lack of post-game/post-E4 gameplaySorry to nitpick but Emerald actually had Battle FRONTIER which was a hell of a lot better than Battle Tower. I spent hours on Battle Frontier, mainly in Battle Factory I think where you got rental Pokemon, it was fun with a lot of variety and interesting things and also pretty challenging. It may not be a second region but it was a decent amount of post-game content, even if you end up not wanting to do it over and over you can still spend a good few hours trying everything out.
>Wally was a pathetic crybabby, Teams Magma and Aqua were total dumbshits.1. Wally is actually gen 4, Brandon and May were gen 3.
2. Yes Team Aqua/Magma had dumb motives, but the effects of what they did--the temporary tropical storm and droughts after they unleashed the legendaries, were really cool, and the music fit it well. I also like their outfits, Team Galactic and Plasma's costumes are pants-on-head retarded and I don't understand how anyone could take them seriously.
The reality is, Team Rocket were actually the most uninteresting bad guys, they were just generic "world domination" baddies, at least gen 3 started the trend of having villains with less generic motives.
>>No backwards compatibility. This isn't so much a problem with gen 3 as it was a problem with the GBA, for whatever reason Nintendo couldn't (or didn't) make that possible and then they tried to compensate by remaking gen 1.
>>Not being able to simply Fly to your Secret BaseI never really got into the whole secret base thing.
>>Having to switch out the bikes was a pain in the ass.Agreed, but it was never mandatory to do that.
