Also I can barely remember any of the Gen 4 music aside from the battle frontier music.
It was somewhat bland.

It wasn't so much the use of instruments, but really the composition of it all. Hoenns music was more varied and fluid in my opinion
I found Sinnohs music to be sort of bland, and it didn't really tend to do much in terms of creativity.

Decent music (considering the soundfont didn;t do it justice)
Sealed Chamber
Acro Bike (would have been perfect if you could switch gears between Mach and Acro Bike)
Diverse region
Great Pokemon design
Lots of great new features added (abilities, proper berries, usable PC system, EVs/IVs, natures, etc.)

Least favourite: Gen 5
Too much hand-holding
Worst Pokemon designs (although this is subjective)
Horrible pixelated battle sprites
Only one/two memorable pieces of music
Boring region (BW2 did fix this a little)

No man, its devolving into a genwar because the OP was bait, deliberately designed to precipitate a genwar.

Threads in which people are invited to share their favorites can at least go a few dozen posts before getting genwarry, and even then it is usually because trolls start shitposting in it.

Threads in which people are invited to share their favorites and their least favorites are a genwar from post #1, they just don't look like it in the initial stages.

I don't hate gen 5, it had many great things about it too (decent story, a few great Pokemon, PWT, reusable TMs, auto-repel, etc.). I just prefered the other games.

All Pokemon games are aimed at kids but the older ones didn't have as much hand-holding. They should at least give you an option to turn off tutorials if they're going down that route.

You have to be blind if you prefer the pixelated close-ups to the non-pixelated sprites. If they are going to zoom in and out of the sprites, they should have at least used a better resolution for the battle sprites.

You have Route 10 and that's about it. I liked what BW2 did with the gym music and the PWT remixes were great. But when it comes to original compositions, gen 5 wasn't as good as the others.

I always really liked it. Brash and in-your-face, kind of like the landscape. Anyway...

Despite the shoehorned water routes, reliance on older Pokemon, and the awful level scaling, I've always had fun in Johto. The environment feels inclusive, the music is fantastic, the color pallettes were nice, and the Pokemon introduced were really neat.

Kanto always came off as a really dull urban area, with flat music, uninteresting areas, and little motivation to actually explore anything.

gen 4. poor level scaling (not as bad as gens 2 and 3 though), i didn't like the story line very much (subjective, dont hate), the new pokemon were underwhelming in my opinion and i feel like this is the first gen where i felt that legendaries became uninteresting due to the scale of their powers according to the pokedex and the history vs what they could actually do in battle (like, seriously, the pokemon that created space and time are on par in stats with a psychic mutant and a sky snake?)

Sinnoh, thought it was the most perfectly balanced region in terms of urbanization/nature, also harbors some of my favorite Pokemon lines and I really appreciated the evos/pre-evos. Sucks the engine and slow battle speed held back what would have been one of the best regions easily.

Hard to say, but I'm gonna have to go with Kanto. Although I still really love it, I just love the other ones more. And it doesn't help that gens 1/2 did not age well at all.

Also, runner up for favorite would have to be 5. I appreciated that it was a soft-reboot of the series and had a lot of subtle tweaks to what was becoming an extremely formulaic series. And I don't think many would disagree that BW2 are pretty much the best games thus far.
