Playing through the game I always used the lucky egg on my lead, and by the time I completed the main story my pokemon were all about level 53. At that level I had no problem taking out the post-game trainers, my team was well rounded and efficient. I don't see what the big deal is, a well trained team can plow through higher level pokemon. In HG/SS I beat red with no revives with a team of low 60's
