i bought a 3ds in prep for x&y and just want to fucking connect to my router and play white 2 like it was meant to be but the ds software inside the 3ds still doesnt support wpa2 security what the fuck

It's not the 3DS connection that's the problem. I'm connected fine because it supports WPA2.
I need to get connected on White 2, which doesn't use the 3DS settings I assume.

When I try to configure through the game itself, I get

No problem. That must mean the "Nintendo DS Connections" button under the Internet Settings 3DS app, right?

I launch it and search for an access point and get

So I can't configure my DS Wi-Fi settings inside of my 3DS, which is working fine.
Changing to WEP would work, but I'm not a fan since it's really shitty security wise.

Plus there's no guarantee we will be able to transfer Pokes from V to VI, so what am I getting anyway?

You have to go to Nintendo DS connections to configure internet for DS software. Your 3DS settings won't work. This also means it won't work with WPA2 because it's using DS firmware.

That doesn't work for DSi enhanced titles like Pokemon BW/BW2. You're supposed to use the 3DS settings for those.

Right. My B/W won't work with WEP but my B2/W2 works fine. I was mad about the WEP issue because I stopped being able to access the Dream World for my older games.

my router doesnt allow me to select WEP security (it's greyed out), but i got a usb wifi dongle thing off ebay and it works great (even if the software is in Chinese)

The WEP/WPA(2) isn't affected by the 3DS. It's all in the cartage.

White 2 is DSi enhanced, so I don't know why you're having issues.
