Indeed. I believe music plays an important role in the overall feel of the games. Gen 4 and 5 seem to have way too kiddy music, not to mention trying way too hard to sound original while it lacks the iconic feel the first 3 Gens have.

Also no trumpets.

Lack of Fire Types. I still love Hoenn, just saying I'd like more of a choice than Blaziken, Torkoal, and Camerupt.

Yeah, but the franchise as a whole has a distinct lack of fire types.

Gen 2 got away with it because most of the Gen 1 types were still available, but it only introduced Slugma/Houndoor. Gen 3 and Gen 4 were awful as well.

Gen 1 and Gen 5 were the only ones with good fire types.

There are only 28 Pokemon lines that have Fire in them in the whole series. 23 if you exclude legendaries. 21 if you exclude legendaries plus Rotom's and Castform's forms.
