I'm playing through Soul Silver.

I'm currently playing through Kanto, and I feel like my Noctowl has gone far enough. It can barely hold its own anymore. I'll miss it, but I need a new flying Pokemon.

Does anyone have any suggestions at this point in the game?

Crobat is generally the best choice, and Togetic isn't too bad either. Pidgeot is nigh-on garbage, Fearow and Dodrio were only good in the older games, though they're not god-awful either.

Okay, it's pretty dull because I'm currently trying to finish the main stuff.

So far I have

Typhlosion
Ampharos
Gyarados
Heracross
Gengar

and

Noctowl.

I get kind of attached to Pokemon even if they aren't very useful. I think I need to part ways with my Noctowl at this point though..

You're right! I guess it'll have to be Xatu then.

I'd love to use Crobat, but I think whilst I have Gengar, it won't be necessary.

Fast physical? Fearow/Pidgeot/Dodrio/Scyther/Aerodactyl
Fast special? Yanmega/Xatu
Fast status? Crobat/Jumpluff
Tank? Skarmory/Mantine
