Eh, always felt like it was possible, but they could have just given pre evos or evos to existing mons, feels like a way to flesh out the dex a bit

This isn't necessary. Let's assume they somehow ARE real. This is just showing us that there's a power creep going on in Pokémon, which could potentially make other pokemon even more useless. And on top of that, why Blaziken and Lucario? They already had enough going for them. Lucario is even supposed to get a super effective STAB on the new fairy type. And why only Blaziken? I don't know why they would try to make one starter blatantly more appealing than the others with a new form.

I have never actually considered quitting Pokemon until today. Then I realized after 5 gens I've dug myself a hole and now I'm fucked and probably will keep playing despite my mega hate for these new digimon.

Did you really expect them to leak EVERY new form all at once? I'd say it's a safe bet that every starter gets one. And if random pokemon like Mawile, Ampharos, and Absol get one, then a lot more (if not every) pokemon will get one too.
