The Black and White sequels were boring, the gen 2 remakes were alright because of nostalgia, gen 4 was a complete clusterfuck of shit.

Gen 1 set up the premise, 2-3 updated and balanced the system, gen 4 shit out 16 useless legendaries, unnecessary remakes, and unwanted evolutions, gen 5 gave us icecream, fighting types everywhere, and the lamest map progression so far.
Nintendo is just too gimmicky now; sky battles, hoard encounters, trainer customization, little pet simulators where you have to pet and feed specific pokemon in order to evolve, some pokemon are now bikes (bet it uses an hm move in order to ride em), fairy type, now mega-forms?
Pokemon needs to stray into the more adventure related side of gaming. More action rpg, less little visual aesthetics that do nothing for the actual game, and less sims.
In short, how would you fix pokemon?
