TOTT 1: Accelgor/Gothitelle seems likely, but the cost for 3 Beaches is going to be a MAJOR downside for those who don't have the cash for 'em. If Accelgor/Gothitell falls flat thanks to bad starting hands, I can see TDK doing well.

ALT TOTT: I can see Mega Evolutions getting the same treatment as Lv. Xs or the new evolved EXs.

If somebody can afford to travel to multiple states just to get CP towards a Worlds invite and then travel to Vancouver, they can most likely afford the Beaches. I can't see their price being an issue for Worlds-tier players.

Mega: I'm hoping for proper evolution support with Megas as Lv. X or alt Stage 2, but realistically speaking we're more likely to get the regular evolution line separately with Mega as an EX equivalent.

I really don't get the new found hype behind HydRai. Any new lists I've seen look about the same as they've always been except with a single Virizion EX teched in. And with only four Blend GRPD, I'm not thinking it's worth the inclusion, honestly.

Virizion EX's existence looks like it's enough to shy people away from relying heavily on HTL and post-PLB lists will probably reflect that.

That's pretty much what I've done. It does slow the damage output quite a bit but Kyurem is still swinging like a motherfucker most of the time.

Yeah, it''ll probably be the main thing when rotation hits.

One build I've been testing out uses Mirrors instead of the Bangles, it managed to turn a mirror match in my direction.

Mega Pokemon Rule: When you finish your turn, shufle *mega pokemon* into your deck.

And to 'evolve' them you'll have to atach something like a tool card...just to keep the evolutions mechanics from the games

I think they call it "Full-Water" or something like that, since it only uses basi water energy and a lot of Keldeos.
It's some sort of Gothitelle/Accelgor hate variant of TDK

Ah, well then the only issues I can see are energy acceleration (I suppose Colress Machine is good enough, if it was any faster you'd be running Keldeo/Blastoise/B. Kyurem with Plasma Kyurem techs instead) and Float Stone loss.

KwandaoRen66 is horrible playing meta decks but has a lot of funny rouge ideas and funny comments (inb4 E-Lo get a tripcode faggot)

Agreed, it also only helped if I was running one of my older techs (Snorlax PST)

Right now I'm playing a 3-1 Ultra-Plasma split. My list ended up almost identical to the one Pooka used in the LCQ at Nats with the sole difference being -1 Basic Lightning for an additional Ultra Ball.

So I've been meaning to pick this game up. Coming from YGO, and a bunch of other random JP TCGS so I don't really understand how set rotation works besides stuff becomes illegal at a predetermined date. Also besides here what are some good resources for keeping up with the meta? Should I buy any cards now or just wait for the new format to start?

Sorry, the World Championships are under way, and it'a hectic as fuck.

Yeah, rotation means that every year TCPi or whoever decides that some of the older sets will become out-of-format, meaning they can't be played legally anymore, except if a certain card is reprinted in a later set. The new format (NXD-on) will start after worlds.

As for resources, there are a few staples (N, Juniper, Ultra ball and Pokemon Catcher come to mind). In a couple of days the new set will launch, which will have those last two cards in a starter deck, so I would suggest buying that (the Volcorona one). Furthermore, new tins will drop in September, and with those you can make one of the current BDIFs, so I would suggest waiting for that if you're really interested. For that specific deck just look up 'TDK decklist' and you'll find tons.

I decided I should do that to fuck her shit up with fire pokemon, but that didn't work out so well. She has been playing since gen 1 so she has a shit ton of stuff that fucks me up every time. Sealed just sounds like the funnest one, because I can build up my deck while I play, and everyone is on an even playing field because it is random.

The PokeCenter is literally just the first floor of Nintendo World.

It makes up half of that room, and all it is is two shelve displays and a wall with Pokemon plush toys, mini figures, games, cards, and clothing. They have Pokemon game koisks for you to try but that is literally it.

I don't think he tried to cheat intentionally here, he had the Energy Switch in hand, he had a legit way to play the turn out. Mistakes happen. The judges should have caught that immediately and not allow the game to proceed that much. Now it's not reversible, he has to receive a penalty, most likely prize penalty or game loss depending on how harsh they are.

So, even if someone is caught cheating on live stream, they can't use that footage to solve the immediate issue, only use it as grounds for a ban afterwards.

Likely you need to be recording your win/loss results in a local TCG league, which in turn affects your standings and whether or not you can compete in some sort of tournament qualifier and possibly your seeding. Not sure how the Pokemon TCG does it but it's a fairly common way to keep the skill level at tournaments high and keep them from turning into a clusterfuck.
