Just because Gamefreak does something stupid in the now, does not make you a nostalgiafag.

It's okay to not like the mega forms. It doesn't mean you hate pokemon as a series or anything.

that being said, the mega forms are ultra babby objectively shit tier ideas and if you like them you're cancer and I'm really not trolling in the slightest.

Gen IV pretty much perfected battling (the whole fucking thing the series is based around) as a concept with it's god-tier, un-convoluted metagame and physical/special split.

Gen V was pretty cool because it introduced a lot of new moves and stuff, and was okay for people that like fast-paced battles while not keeping anything batshit powerlevel retarded.

How long did it take for Garchomp to get moved to ubers again? The metagame has never been either of those things, and if you think otherwise, you need to play a series that's actually tooled for high-leveled, competitive play.

I think the eviolite argument is weak. Gen VI could very easily not have eviolite in it or allow it to be transferred over if we do get the transfer thing cleared up.
Mawile's mega is pretty cool and it gives a lot of people what they wanted... but not really.
While this is, and I need to stress this, MY OWN OPINION AND WILD UNSUBSTANTIATED CLAIM, I have a feeling we wont get any true evos of past pokemon now. Why evolve, say, Dunsparce, if other pokemon just got megas? I don't know.
It seems like the megas will be optional, which is great and while I don't care for them right off the bat, I will, at least give them a try.

Guys I just had a great idea! If you don't like a pokemon, don't use it! I agree that some of the mega designs are dumb and childish, but I'm not going to formulate an opinion on a game mechanic just because I know it exists.
