I'm fine with megas since I actually like some of the design, and some of them are shit, which is usually what happens with every gen, with or without megas.

Second thing being, that maybe this will really shake up the meta game, and that's always fun.

I'm a loyal gamer and I'm still not ok with the mega forms. I'm still buying the game because I love everything else I've seen so far, but just because you don't like something that doesn't make you disloyal. I actually like them.
I think that Pokemon has been going through a process. Gens 1 & 2 were obviously meant to be together, 3 was somewhat of an experiment. On 4 they went back to the basics, but I thought it would be the last one.
When 5 came out, I feel like it is a very fresh beginning. It was an introductiory game, that is why you even get chimp to counter your rival's starter, and B2W2 was "the true game," leading to a new "era".
I feel that 6 is going to be radically different, still similar to the other ones, and it gets me excited.
It will deffinetly drive away some "Genwunners" and "Hoennbabies." But it will bring more people into it.

On 3 they were thinking of doing more things, such as changing the number of attacks, or of pokemon on your party. Double battles were introduced, two teams, your rival was more of your friend, etc.
Since it sold so poorly, Gen IV has a feel more to that of Gen I and II, that is why they even brought the day/night function back, and so many prevo/evo to older pokemon.

Its good that BW was your first. Not many people were playing Pokemon at the time (I was the only one on my HS, until BW came out).
