The thing is though, Newcario's form really does look bigger and stronger than a regular Lucario. It looks 'mega'. But Newtwo's mega form looks younger and weaker. It looks more like a prevo to Mewtwo than a 'mega' form. Not saying I don't like it just saying it doesn't fit.

They really fucked up on newtwo's design. It somehow looks weaker, especially compared to all the other Mega's. I mean, this is character design 101. You want an intimidating character? Do what they did with Lucario. Make it buff and shit with spikes and darker tones.

I guess japanese art schools have different standards.

Mewtwo is a PSYCHIC TYPE. It's body shrunk, but it looks sleek and constantly levitates.
Lucario is a fighting type, so it got buffer with more spikes and shit.

Mega Mewtwo's all about speed so I understand why they it all smaller and streamlined to emphasize that. The problem's that they made it too cutesy and young looking instead of keeping some of Mewtwo's intimidating traits. Intimidating and svelte can go hand in hand, just look at Frieza. But for some reason they didn't do that and now it feels... off compared to the other Megas because all of the other ones stay true to the older forms but add things to them but Mewtwo ends up losing a lot of its old features and having them replaced until the point that it doesn't really look much like its old self at all.

Yeah. Pretty much agree. The could've streamlined Mewtwo without making him look weaker overall. Stuff like Frieza's final form and Kid Buu are examples of how to trim down a design while still keeping it intimidating. Newtwo looks more like a pre-evo than anything.
