>>13339454>>13339454Banette works as a sweeper with shadow ball, and can replace things such as Manetric if given Thunderbolt, it has a monster attack stat, it was made for shadow ball to wreak havoc. If you train your own Banette you can probably solo Phoebe with it.
The last slot generally falls to the more ''physical'' based such as Hariyama/Aggron/Slaking/Zangoose(Emerald unavailable)/Shiftry
-Shiftry is typically a physical based 'mon in Gen III, essentially - catching Seedot early is perhaps the only time Bullet Seed is ever used - the move wrecks early through late with growth backup. Otherwise Shiftry only earns it's points in the concept of it being able to learn a wide range of TMs - typically fitting into any team
Aggron, despite it's popularity, can't get away with much in-game, the E4 have a counter to it and it's x4 weakness to common moves in the League always leave it at that disadvantage, having said this - if he can land an Iron Tail then you're probably okay.
Hariyama is acquired early, and a solid fighting type with a high HP stat and ATK/DEF - also thick fat gives it further usage, Vital Throw is murderous as well, a solid use if without a Blaziken/Breloom
Slaking is usually chosen in Emerald as Zangoose is unavailable, so you can use him to the same effect with slash-critting and heavy hitting.
These are mirrored by the psychic types or earlier listed ''odd'' sweepers such as Banette
(Gardevoir the most common - great moveset and powerful)
Essentially, the beauty with Hoenn/Gen III is that 90% of the pokemon you acquire early on are some of the best later on. Furthermore, this links to the ''GOAT'' team you asked for originally. While the game can be beat with a solo starter as we all know - The right mix of a Hoenn team to beat the challenges of the league are often....
