I would've had a theory, but it wouldn't be able to compensate for the matter if you have more than one pokemon that can use a Mega Stone. Unless you can tell it to focus on a single pokemon. This would be how you get the specific Mega Stones needed. The thing would be there is a such thing as a Mega Stone, but by itself, it doesn't really do anything. It needs to be around a pokemon long enough to absorb it's essence and purify it.
