If getting to the end result of having the Pokemon was the entire end goal for both causes, that would be a valid argument. But in fairness, people are arguing the step after getting to the first end goal. Once you have the Pokemon you're not guaranteed a win at all. You're just guaranteed the Pokemon.
If you're max level and have all items in Runescape, you met the end goal of having all items and max level, but you still might never beat anyone who is also max level and has all items.
I don't even know if runescape has PVP
