Most stores do get games early, sometimes a few days, sometimes quite a few weeks.
If you sell a game/movie/book early, it's a great way to get fired, most registers won't even allow you to normally. On top of that, most stores take inventory very seriously due to the rise of theft/damage, and even if you manually key the game, the manager/claims people will find out eventually what you sold, unless you lie, and then they find out you lied about something. You probably get fired either way.
You are actually safer to just try and steal the damn game from the back room.
