Fair enough but lets face it. This is the most innovative and interesting change to battle mechanics Gamefreak has introduced since abilities in gen 3, or maybe ever. Now you get another choice for battle. Attach a megastone at the cost of another item and fulfill the requirements to mega evolve or use a more traditional strategy. No need to mega evolve if you don't want to.
