This results in big looking muscles which are only good for showmanship, not real power. You may attract all the babes at the beach but you would get your ass handed to you in a fight against someone who is legitimately strong.
Strongman training on the other hand is focuses on stimulating myofibular hypertrophy, which is an increase in the number of muscle cells, rather than than just overinflating each muscle cell with fluids. This results in smaller looking yet denser and ultimately stronger muscles. In other words you develop real life fuctional strength, the kind of strength that carpenters, lumberjacks, firefighters, and farmers have.
Just look at Dennis Rogers. He's living proof that you don't need a bodybuilder's physique to be strong as hell. He's 5'6" and 175 lbs yet he's way stronger than any bodybuilder.
