There's no official source yet, but its pretty much happening

See this is what I don't like about megas. now that they have come out evolutions have become "unnecessary" when they are needed. Because Mawile and Absol really needed to give up it's item slot in order to be useful.

and the thing is, eviolite, being an item and not an ability or move or anythig could have easily been abandoned to the 5th gen. It didn't need to come along for the ride, especially if they are worried about it being broken on some pokemon.

Added evos/prevos shold only be added when it evolves the concept of the pokemon itself, good examples of this is Tyrogue or the megaKangaskhan, but so far at least 4 of the revealed megas seem to be just some random shit

Because pokemon like Ampharos don't qualify for an evolution, I think Mega Evolutions are a good idea to make generic pokemon like Kangaskhan interesting.

But yeah Sableye definitely deserves an evolution. I would say the same for Mawile but I can't see Gamefreak not fucking that up.
