I don't find them overdesigned. Froakie has a good amount of colours and features that make it distinct yet not overdesigned. Personally I find the gloves, which some could say are unnecessary, to be a solid part of Froakie, just like it's bubblecape and glasses. I can't imagine taking anything away from it. Maybe the dark-blue streak, but that may be a part that's important in it's evo.
Fennekin then, I can't see how it is overdesigned either. If it was just yellow and white it would be boring.
Chespin, it might be the only one that's a bit overdesigned, but I think that the head-armor will be used in later evos and needs those details. Red tailtip is possibly unnecessary.
