I'm another one of these people.

I love the design and concept, but it's useless in battle.

I think the problem is that it makes you instantly think 'Dragon type! One shotting everyone and resisting everything!' when in reality Flygon is probably the weakest Dragon type alongside Altaria

It doesn't help that it has a double Ice weakness and Gen V introduced the most Ice Pokemon of any generation ever. His stats are nothing to write home about and none of his moves are particularly devastating besides STAB Earthquake.

A poor mans Garchomp.

I never use Altaria in battle but it will always have a special place in my heart because I caught a Shiny Swablu.
