I don't care for the 4th and 5th Gen games (excluding HGSS), however I still completed them all at least once.

You'll find that this is broadly the same scenario that lots of people who prefer Gen 1 are in, hardly "Genwunners".

I'm honestly mad about mega forms because it's ruining my favorite part of a new gen, seeing new evolutions for old pokemon and killing my ability to add these new pokemon to my collection, but other than that I haven't had a single complaint about gen VI.

Whereas I still to this day, will happily run through the first three gens and HGSS and enjoy them like I did a decade ago (MY OPINION).

I happen to hold the OPINION that X & Y are borrowing too heavily on the megaform-esque aspects of Digimon and DBZ. How is incorporating that into my description of the game making me a child?

It's the people of questionable age on here that have an emotional attachment to a cartridge that's stockpiled in some Japanese warehouse and will do anything to defend it. That's hardly rational, adult behaviour.

I happen to like the Lv 100, 4 moves, 2 evo's limit. Its a key aspect of Pokemon to me and I feel that X & Y and mega's, whilst not altering it completely, is taking the first step on that road.

A genwunner would have never even tried the newest Gen's, I did, but haven't replayed them because they're not really to my tastes.

However I respect the opinions of those that do like them. It seems that a lot of them are getting caught up on the comparison I made to other RPG's, and not that we can all like Pokemon as a series, but prefer different games.

I didn't like their storylines, NPC's, maps, how easy it was to grind, some of the rehash designs etc.

Megaforms could potentially be the first step on the road of 3+ evos's per species, in my opinion.

Gen 1 is my favorite of all time. Had the best pokemon, music, and region in my opinion.
