Started up a Black 2 Randomized run after wiping 3 or 4 times in BlazeBlack Randomized to early game bs.

Currently just beat Hugh in Floccesy, lost a Lucario that I could have caught to critical Twister from Deino.

I have a question, i recently started a LG nuzlocke, would it be against any rule if i were to use repel in each new area so i could encounter the highest level pokemon for that area? e.g I could enter diglett cave with repel +X level pokemon at front to get a dugtrio.

Cool, I just finished a randomized FireRed run with Rhyhorn as my starter (although he died before I even got to Brock). Pretty easy because I had a Vaporeon at level 75 going into the E4 (pic related), but Jesus Christ I lost like 4 Pokes in Silph Co. and 3 to wild Wobbuffet with Shadow Tag!

Took me longer than I expected but this is my Pokemon Black randomizer nuzlocke team.

Only Pokemon that's died is my brotortle because I'm usually careful as fuck but he died because I was being too damn reckless RIP in peace you son of a bitch.

Also the boxed Shedinja is shiny, I think I've used up all my luck and I have a feeling something bads gonna happen soon.

Quick question: If a Pokémon of mine dies and I encounter it as first of a route again, I'm I allowed to catch it or would it still count as a duplicate?

I'm asking this because I had a red Shellos which died a while ago and today I encountered a blue one which I caught but I'm unsure of what to do now.

I lost Platinum
I sold SS
My laptop got fixed (thus, wiped)
and BAM here I am with my 3DSXL,
a copy of B2,
and about to start over into a nuzlocke run.
its only normal mode, though, cause I no longer have the means to hack in the keys, or obtain them naturally

I beat my first Nuzlocke today. Leaf Green.

Went against the E4 with Poliwrath, Ninetails, Victreebel, Fearow, Snorlax, and Hypno.

Poliwrath went down against Lance's Dragonite, but everyone else and their training in victory road paid off.

Doing BlazeBlack Randomize challenged.

Just beat the first gym with Shroomish, Porygon, and Larvesta; intense battle. The most intense I have ever had in which everyone was near death.

Should be a piece of cake until the next gym if my memory serves right.

A difficulty mode that you can access in game, ups the difficulty a fair bit, gym leaders all have 6 pokemon, held items are more common, just makes the game harder really.

I have a question about nuzlocke runs,

If nobody on your team can learn a certain HM move,
Is it acceptable to catch a pokemon for the sole purpose of continuing on and then afterwards boxing/releasing it?

I'm kinda stuck in Azelea Forest with no way out.

Assuming you have already caught or killed the first Pokemon you met within that area I would say it's allowed, but only if you release it afterwards regardless of what happens to you along the way toward the next PC.

(e.g A Pokemon faints before reaching the next Storage PC, you have to released the fainted Pokemon as well as the Pokemon used to get yourself out of an unwinnable situation)

It's up to you how you play your Nuzlocke. Add and amend rules as you please, as long as you keep the two most basic ones.

Personally, I always have HM slaves that I never use in battle.

Beat Bugsy and made my way out of Azelea Forest,
Bugsy had an annoying Stantler but Bubbles wrecked his shit.
Fuck Yeah was playing the part of bird pokemon and took out the rest of his team, which were both bug types.

He's suprisingly useful so far.. But I still plan on replacing him.

Just caught a Gligar tho!
Gonna go train him now.

So I had started my first emerald run only to have it shut down before the first gym

Rules where the usual plus no items and no duplicates.

Started with a Mudkip named Leviathan

First pokemon to die was my poochyena named Diablo only to be replaced by another one named Diablo 2.0

my second slot was filled with a marill named Aquamarie
My third pokemon was a cascoon unfortunately named Belladona

and my fourth pokemon who died immediately after I caught him was a nincada named noname because I forgot to name him. Unfortunately was poisoned by a wurmple and I tried to run back to the poke center only to have it faint in my arms half way there.

One by one my pokemon fell to an evil pokemon lass with a shroomish that had stun spore, absorb, growl and tackle

Shroomish stun spored all my pokemon and growled them until they couldn't attack hard enough. And when i choose to switch it would use absorb which two of my water pokemon fell to.

When Levi died, I couldn't believe it.

So all my pokemon fell to this evil child and my run ended...

Is this how pain feels?

Download this program along with the Rom you're looking to play, and open the randomizer and file > open the rom in the program and pick your settings.

When you save it makes a new rom file with those selections in the game, play on that one and not the regular one.

Course you can but even if you did find a working patch I'd reccomend saving every 5 - 10 minutes because there will be graphical glitches, and sometimes they happen in odd places like when you're looking at your pokedex so you can't save.

Free it. Legendary pokemon completely break the immersion IMO, and certainly don't help increase the difficulty of the playthrough, which is one of th main reasons Nuzlocke runs are played in thr first place.

Beat the ice gym with no casualties and then Caught Giratina using up all my ultra balls and then catching it with a pokeball, Inferno almost died and Rurouni almost died soon after from a critical, left with 3 hp.

I'm now up to the final gym which Snuffles should have no trouble beating and I leveled up everyone to lvl 55 so there ready to take on victory road after the gym battle.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't done it in a while but you either just change the .sav into .dsv or go to that website, chose whatever format your save file is and then make the target format duc/.dss and then change the (.dss) on the file to .dsv, I may be wrong so make a copy of your save before you do that or just wait until someone can answer you better.

I just figured out the problem on my own. it seems that I can simply just move it from my microSD card I used for my flashcart into the folder desmume uses for saves, but my flashcart saved it as "pokemon white.nds.sav", when it will only recognize it if it's "pokemon white.sav". No converting necessary, just had to rename the file. didnt even have to change the extension.

What is the stance on gift pokemon? For example, you get a Pan___ pokemon in the Dreamyard, but the Dreamyard is the only place you can potentially catch a Munna. Does this mean I'm just fucked out of a Munna, or do gift pokemon not count for that route, or what?

Sigh... Ruby here reporting in from my Emerald Nuzlocke challenge and I'm not feeling so good about it anymore... I've lost so many in a small amount of time such as Puppet the Shuppet and my big man and first poke Skipper to a fucking Wobbuffet.... As soon as that happened I added Octopie to my team to get a water pokemon back in there, I trained him up to evolve and then he fucking died to a self destruct blow in magma's cavern.... I promptly added Pikablu to my team to replace him and evolved him, I hatched NUDDY from an egg and beat all the bad teams hideouts pretty easily. I'm at Mossdeep City now and lossing modivation fast to continue knowing that most of my team besides Tentacle is gonna get fucked up by the gym... I might have to grind to 50 to even stand a chance of not dieing there... Help me motivate myself to continue anons...?

In truth, you already have what you need for the 7th gym. That Tropius and Lombre will easily win you the match, if you can be bothered to raise them to adequate levels, say mid-thirties.

With a bit a luck actually, you could manage the sweep with Azumarril. The only real opposition you'd face is Solrock's Solarbeam, but You'd still have one heck of a grinding session ahead of you.

Beat the Opelucid Gym without any trouble, Snuffles pretty much one-hitted everything in there with Ice Fang/Blizzard.

Went and battled all the trainers on Route 11 and Victory Road.

Caught a Typhlosion in the grassy area right before Victory Road.

Went back to all the missable places in the game and battled all the trainers/legendaries for there XP and also got some Type-enhancing items for my team.

and finally, nicknamed my Slowpoke Wattahead.

So now that everything's out the way its time to challenge the Elite Four!

No one die please...

Well in 3rd gen When you get to norman it starts to shit all over your mons for the rest of the game. Norman's bad enough but when you hit the 7th gym thats when Nuzlockes really die unless you overlevel.

Cause I love me some Slowpoke, too good to evolve.

I waited until I could get to the man who gives you a kings rock so I could make him a Slowking and I know for a nuzlocke run Slowbro is the better choice but I really liked Slowking and I've never used one before.

Well I haven't played Pokemon much until recently so I don't know how much help I can be but in my opinion for Slowpoke, Own Tempo is better than Oblivious and Docile is better than Jolly.

So it just comes down to which one you'd prefer to lose. Sacrifice Own Tempo for Docile nature or sacrifice Docile nature for Own Tempo, your call.

In other matters, Beedrill with Focus Energy, Sniper holding a Scope Lens using Cross Poison can pretty much shred everything that doesn't resist it apart, quite enjoying using her.

Well I saved the game before taking a screenshot but I just accidentally did the Cynthia battle and her Pokemon were almost 10 levels higher than mine but everyone lived.

LimeWire, Watahead, Snuffles and Alduin on red health and Inferno on yellow.

Almost finished exploring the rest of the routes and soon I'll be doing the Elite Four again and battling the champion.

Does anyone know any other post game things I should do before I finish the nuzlocke?

Went and explored the rest of the routes to battle trainers for XP and also got Blast Burn and Frenzy Plant for Inferno and LimeWire.

There isn't really much left to do in the game so this is it, I'll probably be doing a normal nuzlocke run of Black 2 or a Gen IV game next, since I seem to get lucky with randomizer runs which make the game way too easy.

Final look at my team before I challenge the Pokemon League again.

To me, a cut and dry nuzlocke is just
1) Catch the first pokemon you see in a new area, no more no less
and 2) Any pokemon that faint are dead and should be perma boxed

rebattling trainers is fine to me as long as if one of your pokemon faint from any of those battles that you box it.

Alright guys, Ruby back with a new report... I trained up Pikablu to level 42 before taking on the gym as well as trying to train Banana for the fight; then promply losing him to a fucking Wobbuffet yet again like Skipper did! I have horid luck with those fucking things and has been a big one hit killer for most of my pokes. Anyways I took on the gym with a weary heart hoping to avenge my lost friend and to not lose anymore. It was a long and tough battle and at one point I had to healspam Wi-fi to take the hits every turn to take out the lunatone with Tentacle and switched out to 007 to be the wall which is very effective. At the end they had left was Claydol and I took it out with a combined effort with Tentacle and Pikablu to take the win... My biggest fear of this nuzlocke has been beaten, but whats to come of me later?

No seriously, 1 pokemon before Roxie means death by poison gas + venoshock. That is, unless you overlevel to the mid twenties, but IMO overleveling cheapens the game.

I usually get wiped and restart in these situations. Even if they overlevel, they are still bound for a deal of boredom anyway, 1 poke through the overleveling grinding process plus a very small party for a great while.

In a side argument, I'm having the worst luck at catching pokemon in my current run. I'm at Violet and I've only caught two pokemon of five available.

and that's that, I beat randomizer nuzlocke Pokemon Black, the first nuzlocke I've ever actually completed.

I was really lucky, only two deaths and I found my third ever shiny, a shiny Shedinja.

Champion battle was a lot easier than expected, only had to use Inferno and Snuffles but the Elite Four were a lot harder. Came so close to losing some of my favorite Pokemon but in the end they all lived.

So glad I got to use some Pokemon I've never used before but really wanted to, like Slowking, Mamoswine and Scizor.

Next I'll probably do a normal nuzlocke of Black or White 2 seeing as it will most likely be a lot harder than randomizer.

Standard rules expect I must catch a Pokemon in each route so in the end each Route, Cave etc. will have a "representative". No gift Pokemon or catching in cities. Sorry for the unconventional layout, I decided to make one specific to this run.

Just got to Jubilife and already my team is 75% Grass. Thankfully I picked up Nym for some variety. Roark is gonna be simple.
