That's because we all go crazy for that, and instead of doing pointless genwars we mostly unite over how awesome the next game can be. During other times it's just the same old shit we've been doing for years.
Right after an announcement is the worst, though. Every time, we hope for more and always get less. So we try to milk out the previous announcement with tons of shitposting and speculation, when it's all just re-iterations of what we already know. Our speculating over what could be getting a Mega Evolution doesn't change who will actually get a Mega Evolution. However, what we should do is search for clues with what we have, like with Skiddo in the screenshot from May.
