Nearly all the cover legendaries always battle each other and then you have the third version where you stop that conflict with another Pokémon or by battling against it.

Ho-Oh and Lugia are the exceptions since they don't really react on each other.

Really? Pretty much every Legendary mascot duo after Lugia and Ho-oh have always had beef with each other (Dialga and Palkia excluded since I've only seen them have conflict in the movie).

I know GF might not change things up that much, but try to use your imagination. Xerneas and Yveltal don't look like they're fighting to be honest. In fact they don't have expressions on their faces at all. Think about it OP, maybe they help each other? Destruction is a form of creation because Life and Death go hand in hand. I doubt they'll fight each other outright: it'd be Groudon/Kyogre cop-out bullshit. The cover just seems like a way to put both of them together: any way you juxtapose them, they'll probably look like they're fighting: it looks like Yveltal's trying to get Xerneas's attention and Xerneas is ignoring it, if you ask me.
