I kick off my shoes and socks and begin to navigate through shallows, rolling up my pants as I go. As I make my way north my eye catches a black spot further inland, nestled within the rocky crags of the coast.
I approach and the spot resolves itself into a cave. Resting my hand on one of its rough outer edges, I try to discern how far back it goes - but my vision cannot pierce the inky darkness. I take a step forward, glancing nervously at my Marshtomp as I do so. Her eyes are bright and unafraid, and drawing courage from this I take another step, my feet splashing through the inch of water on the cave floor.
This picture so perfectly conveys what Pokemon is all about for me. A mysterious cave, ready to be explored with a bro/sis by your side.
