A)Your other option is reading it in shit tier local translation.
B)Books are purely the author's intent, in stuff like anime the skill of the voice actor is just as important, and I tend to prefer American ones to squeeky kawaii desu Japanese ones
C)Other than a few jokes here and there that could be maybe mistranslated, the text in video games like Pokémon is general for instructions. The fact that they renamed a move from Ambush to Sucker-Punch doesn't change the meaning of the move. In places where the text has to do with the plot, there is enough visuals to make you understand the point, even with a wrong word here or there.
And finally, I'm pretty sure Gamefreak knows that most of the world plays in English, and that it's the default version at this point. At this point it matter even less, because all the versions are being written together, so nothing is really a translation of something else.
