Torchic will be boxed as soon as it's received, and then i'll take it out after I'm done with the E4 to fuck with Mega_Evolutions a little.

The only scenario where I see myself using him is if every Fire-type in Kalos sucks shit

I'll get it, but it's going straight for the box. I love Torchic but this is the start of a new generation so I'd rather start clean.

It's like the time I replayed Sapphire using the Wishmaker Jirachi. Made the replay more fun, but I wouldn't do something like that for my first run through.

If it has a good nature, I'll use it in-game, then reset its EV's and train it correctly when I'm done. If its nature is trash, I'll probably just box it.

I don't think using it in-game is a big deal since it's so low leveled and not a legendary. There's nothing wrong with having two starters in your team. Personally I haven't connected to any of the Gen VI starters, but that might change when we see their final stages.

You could have a Fire-themed team with some support without having them be all Fire-types, like Flint. Helioptile have something to do with the sun anyway, so he'd be a good addition, probably learns Sunny Day and other Fire moves, but also covers Water.

I dont't get why people like Skrelp so much anyhow, so I'd personally drop it altogether, but if you like it, he might learn Scald, at least, and covers Ground and Rock.
