Maybe it's just me, but I haven't heard that much complaining about mega evolutions. Except on /vp/ during the first day of the leaks (and as ashamed I am to admit it now, I took part in the bitching).
There's still a few "lol digimon" here and there, but otherwise, people seem a lot more happy and excited for mega evolutions than what I would expect.
