This is something that I'm actually praying for. They should be relatively hard to obtain (but unlimited amount, like 100,000p each or something) and they should have a heavy recoil, like fainting 5 turns after using the mega stone. That way people would really need to think when it's really worth it to go into a megarampage. They should be like a "last resort" when a loss is near.

Why wouldn't anybody use the that way? It wouldn't be like saving TM's before gen5, because you could always get more. My suggestion would only reduce the mega spam that is obviously going to happen, who the fuck would EVER use a Mawile (for example) in a battle without going Mega unless it has some recoil?

You do realize that with the Pure Power ability MegaMawile will reach at least 170 attack, and it will most likely get other stat boosts as well, right? Do you really think it's allright to let these things be used without any limits or drawbacks, do you have any idea how much they would break the game? Think how much that thing will be able to do damage in just 5 turns? And I used Mawile, a shitty pokemon, in my example. The other megas will propably be even more broken, if they don't have a heavy recoil the whole game will be only "Megas killing regular pokemon" -fest

Well if you send out a Mawile against a Machamp and then use a Mega Stone, then yes, it would get one-shotted, but how about thinking when you have a chance to survive the opponents blow and start a rampage after that? It would be pretty lame if it wouldn't take any thinking or strategy to use the mega evolutions, if they would activate immediately and last the whole battle without any cost, it would simply fuck up the game balance (which is already nearly extinct)

Attack doesn't work that way. If the base stat is doubled, the actual stat is more than doubled. This is why Medicham with his 60 base attack has an effective attack stat comparable to Deoxys-A.

Literally everything that's been presented to us can be one-shot in OU by everything. Unless you put Mawile in on Scarfmence Outrage, it's going to get one-shot. It also has atrocious speed, so that's pretty nice.

But if there's no drawbacks at all, and MegaEvolutions happen as soon as something's sent out, then yes: they're all going to be dumped in Ubers so that we may enjoy this metagame at least a little.

I agree with you in a way. Maybe it would be the best option if the mega evolution wouldn't take a turn to activate, but their usage is limited somehow, my 5 turn life time example was just something that came to mind when I thought possible, "maybe-working" solutions. I know that one may only have one Mega per team, but it only takes one Rayquaza to kill 6 zigzagoons, if you know what I mean. Time will show, I really hope that GF has thought this through. I'd like to see a MegaEvolution every now and then, but I'm afraid that they might be the key in every single battle.

My bet is that it'll work like Cherrim's forme change. If the Pokemon has the stone equipped, it will Mega Evolve in battle. Then out of battle, it'll be back to normal.

Also people worried about it being OP, consider you can only Mega Evolve once per battle. Once you take down the Mega Pokemon, you've got no more to worry about.

There better be a fucking Mega Lapras I swear

Balancing in-game would be easy as hell.

Quit whining. Mawile will be stronger, but in no way will it be broken. Just pack a special fire or fighting attack and quit being a pussy.

I'm sure Gamefreak knows how to balance each particular Pokemon to make sure it isn't broken as fuck.
