So if pokemon who are nothing alike can breed how come humans cant breed with pokemon? Why aren't there part arcanine part spearow part human things flying around spitting fireballs and swag at people?

The player is still baby evolution (like Magby or Elekid) and can't breed. Plus in the Pokémon world there are no hybrids, so assuming a valid child comes from Poképhilia it will be either the Pokémon or Human. And there are (possibly) some examples, the Psychic trainer type may be the result of a psychic type impregnating a Human (many psychic types are humanshape egg group). And the inverse may also be true, although harder to show strong evidence save for maybe some smarter than average Pokémon.

Seriously, genes are so fucking picky that it's ridiculous. Hell, very few animals can interbreed with others, and even if the offspring is successful, it's gonna be sterile for the rest of its life.
