a) They were never colored in Japan
b) Many, many Game Boy games had colored cartridges. When I was a kid I assumed that Nintendo got a sweet deal on colored plastic

The cards won't be colored, but digital downloads of X and Y will be encoded in blue blue and red, respectively. You won't be able to see it, but if you had a 3DS code viewer, you would.

That's dynamite. Now show me their Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal colored carts--since it was their trademark, after all, and not just a selective thing.

Including what the person before me said, Gold and Silver also had colored cartridges. Silver was a duller version of the silver color we got, and Gold was bluish-black.
