If the former, this Mod vs. /a/ vs. IRC shit has been ruining the board for months, with the mods punishing /a/ under the assumption that the semi-organized trolling of everything anyone likes by IRC is /a/. I'm a bit surprised that it's taken this long to get to the climax. It's sad that the result is one of the worst, and the fact that Moot would actually defend Naruto being allowed with the words 'shitposters could be doing something productive with their time' is laughable in that it's contrary to almost all posting on 4chan.
If the latter, elitism has been a constant of /a/ for years and has kept newfags and recommendation threads to a much smaller chunk of the board comparatively to other boards. While screaming Boku no Pico is seen as a joke, it's done a lot for us over the years. You can shout "sekrit klub" with any number of ironic emoticons, but you can't deny that keeping newfags out improves the board quality.
But again, I don't if you meant things like elitism and shitposting literally, or if you were just shouting buzzwords.
