Alot of people say that the original gen 1 pokemon designs are the best in the series but why is that the case? Because they came first and as such set some sort of standard on how Pokemon should look? I mean gen 2 Pokemon looked a lot more different overall and many would argue that the other gens are "overdesigned" or "too digimon-like". If you think about it, these "overdesigned" Pokemon out number the the gen 1 Pokemon. Perhaps this is what Pokemon would have looked like if GF had the talent back in the early 90s? Personally I don't care much either way, as both gens have had hit and miss designs. It just irks me when others claim their opinions as facts.
