This coming from a Regular 3DS owner.

I don't regret, but the XL does come with a few perks, and with black out you don't have to settle for a subjectively bad color.

Unless you carry your 3DS around frequently, I'd strongly recommend the 3DS XL. If you'll mainly be playing at home, the XL is the ideal choice.

I'm a happy regular 3DS owner.

Are you big?
Do you wear big clothes?
Can you afford to fit a system the size of an Original DS in your pocket?
Do you prefer higher resolution?
Do you like better colors over the regular 3ds?
Get an XL.

I often go to local tourny's at my gamestop.
A guy from nintendo always has 3ds's and XL's for demo. I played the same games on both systems, and the XL's screen looked way more clear. The pixels looked better and the 3d looked better.

Regular 3DS has a design flaw where the lip of the bottom screen contacts the top screen and leaves 2 very bad scratches which only get worse over time. The XL fixed this problem.

The XL is objectively the better system, but if you want the regular 3DS then that's your prerogative.

Nigger please. The ones complaining about that shit are the ones who bought the original 3DS and want a reason to cling to it and tell themselves that they aren't missing out on much. Not that the original 3DS is bad or that you SHOULD buy one if you already bought the original, but if you had played on the XL for any extended amount of time, you'd know that the whole pixel thing is a fucking non-issue. It's barely noticeable, if noticeable at all during gameplay. The only game I noticed it at all in was Luigi's Mansion, and even then it was minimal.

I own a DSi XL and a regular 3DS and don't have huge pockets.

I love the larger screens, but my DSi XL is a bit much to carry around unless I happen to have a backpack.

If you feel like carrying that around, go ahead, I'm just giving my impression.

you can see the size of a 3DS XL and a normal 3DS on Nintendo's site. If the size difference doesn't bother you and if you want to carry it in your pockets, buy a normal one.
