This is from a movie in the anime featuring "Gligar Man". It's unknown if it was meant to be a fictional Pokémon or a robot or what. It moves organically and has its own cry, so the general consensus is it's a fictional Pokémon. It was all giant and shit and Pokémon are their animals and all, so yeah.

That's what I was thinking too, but with GS being in the early stages it was at that point dark type could have easily not have existed yet, so my assumption was that Tyranitar was originally Rock/Ground or just Rock and he owned both of them. The turtle also could have been a ground/dark or water/dark Pokémon, so I'm not sure. I was just saying what most people think.

There's been some question of whether this is real or not, but it's supposedly an early design from GS. I think it was found with some wayback machine exploring on one of Nintendo's websites or something.

Interestingly enough, I recently read a little "history of Pokégods" thing, and one of the descriptions matched this Pokémon exactly. A lot of the Pokégods said to be in RBY were based on Pokémon already seen from GSC, so it made a lot of sense.

The thing I really liked about that statue was that a lot of features the statue had when viewed from above could be interpreted differently, that charmeleon bump dialga has could be taken as palkia's neck, etc.
They probably didn't put it in the anime because then everyone who doesn't play the games or something would get confused thinking they were once one, a la trve dragon 0.5

Could be a Pokégear, or it could be just a generic device. I wouldn't say there's necessarily a connection between that and the things the XY protags wear, the wrist isn't exactly a unique place for a device to sit. I don't even remember where the GSC protags kept their Pokégears.

Mockup of Pikapurple in game. I think it was in the first demo of the games but I'm not sure. I only remember reading there was Slowking, the three starters, and another one.

In the Japanese version of Pokémon Heroes, there was this story at the beginning explaining something. In it there was an entity that I think might have been described as a "Pokémon". This is the representation from that segment of the movie but it doesn't necessarily reflect what it actually looked like, because it's was a storybook type thing.

The Electric Pikachu Boogaloo series was pretty cool. had a really nice art style and was gauged for an older audience (some blood, but no pokemon die)

too bad it was short (i think four issues) and hard to find. The english version changed Misty's swimsuit from her gym battle with ash, too..

I don't really think that there is any fanart of Genesect's original form. I haven't seen any except for the sprite at the very top of the thread, at least. Kyurem overshadows it considerably.

The original Kabutops was Bug/Water.

When revived with the technology available to the player, it is Rock/Water because the fossilisation has not been completely reversed. Team Plasma completely reversed the fossilisation in their specimen, so it was Bug/Water like the original. The cybernetic implants and armour replaced the Water typing because it was less dominant than Bug, hence Bug/Steel.
