Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow are released on the 3DS EShop as a single game where you can choose which version you play, and multiple save files. They do the same for Gold/Silver/Crystal. What's your reaction?

They wouldn't have multiple saves, but, I do see a possibility of them doing this in the future. I guess they need to see if the port is worth the time and effort (which it might not be).

What if they improved it and rereleased it as an upgraded port? With wireless trades/battles plus the gen 3 pokemon system that lets you digitally transfer Pokemon to X and Y?

Would it really be worth it? Would a good portion of nostalgiafags and 90s kids go out, buy a 3DS, and buy a game for $5/10 that they've already owned? If they really wanted to play RBY again they could just emulate them easy.
