>>13432905I'm not going to bother with story or the characters here. I found Sky's to be vastly superior, but really it depends on who you are and your preferences etc.
Gates:
>Pros-Gorgeous graphics
-Absolutely superb soundfonts and music
-Fast running speed
-No healing during weather is a bit annoying but really makes up for the lack of hunger and difficulty
>Neutral-Had some interesting ideas with the "mysteriosity" dungeons, but didn't take it far enough
-Narrower field of view was annoying at first but you get used to it
-Limited selection of starters, can be a bother depending on who you are (also no gender selection)
-All of your pokemon that you recruited share your EXP you gain whether you've ever used them once or not
-The reuse of dungeon music was disappointing
>Cons-Extremely limited selection of pokemon, very repetitive and boring
-A very, very easy game, particularly when compared to the previous entries (I mean, those weren't very difficult at all, but I only fainted thrice in the entire game, five times including the 99-Floor dungeon - partly because of DualChop all day erry day)
-Can only take one rescue mission at a time
-Slow text speed and lots of long cutscenes
-Move powerups apply to all of your pokemon that use the move, making them very overpowered and the game even easier
-It seemed like there weren't really many dungeons at all, although I haven't checked the numbers
>What the shit were you doing ChunsoftNo postgame period. There is literally nothing to do other than complete Paradise (basically gathering materials), do the 99-Floor dungeon, and go on these 'Legendary quests', where you battle a limited selection of unrecruitable Legendary Pokemon. I found this unacceptable.
All in all, I enjoyed my playthrough but probably won't go back and play it again.
